Reverse engineering can be used to extract features from a part such as its dimensions, contours and profiles. With the use of QCNC’s 3D Laser Scanning, CMM capabilities and 3D Modeling software, parts can be recreated to the original specifications in a very short space of time. In cases where components need to be modified or redesigned, this can also be achieved using our special software.
This can be particularly useful where parts have become obsolete and cannot be obtained from manufacturers or suppliers. In these cases QCNC can reverse engineer the parts and store drawings/machining codes to reproduce the part in the future with short lead times. The same can be applied to parts with long supplier delivery times, we have been able to cut quoted delivery times from 20 weeks to 3 days!
